TECO ENERGY

Business Challenge:
TECO Energy is an S&P 500 energy company headquartered in Tampa, Florida. Its five business units include Tampa Electric, a regulated electric utility serving more than 635,000 customers in West Central Florida, and Peoples Gas System, Florida's largest natural gas distribution utility.  Other units are TECO Coal, TECO Transport, and TECO Guatemala. TECO was challenged with the need to implement hazardous energy training involving complex OSHA and TECO procedures.  This training was required to certify vendors to work on site.  Additionally, there was a need to simplify annual re-certification of vendors–a task which, at onset of the project, required a trainer to be on call and available to the facility at any hour of the day or night.

The Solution:
Intelladon’s learning platform enabled effortless delivery of the training course to thousands of vendors and supported annual recertification in OHSA and TECO requirements. The customized solution also provided a way to certify vendors at anytime with no need for instructor to be on call 24/7.

Return on Investment:
The training solution provided by Intelladon allowed TECO to remain compliant and therefore minimize risk, TECO also saved resource costs by enabling the automated validation of vendor certification.
