Business Challenge:
Coast Dental has provided dental services to more than 900,000 people. The publicly traded company is a leading provider of management services to one of the largest teams of affiliated general dentists throughout the Southeastern United States. The company's operating model allows the dentist to focus on providing quality dentistry. The organization provides critical services for the organization's dentists, including important aspects of office administration, human resources, training, insurance processing and marketing. However, all of these services require focused training, and the organization's decentralized structure made such training onerous and impractical. Coast Dental hired a corporate trainer to identify strategies to streamline the costs of continuing education and training. He determined the organization needed an e-learning system that could easily import content and rapidly deploy engaging courses directly to the computer desktops of Coast Dental offices throughout its interstate network.

The Solution:
Coast Dental selected Intelladon's award-winning Advanced Learning Platform (ALP(tm)) as a training solution for its geographically dispersed employees. While Coast Dental's corporate trainer had previous experience with other digital course authoring and learning management systems, he honed in on the ALP's ability to enable Coast administrators to develop content internally on their own terms (without having to depend on a third-party vendor to story-board and re-deliver content). Having this ability to create courseware themselves and release course content instantly and on the fly was the best fit for Coast Dental. The company plans to utilize Intelladon's ALP to produce and deliver company training on a host of topics, including general human resources issues, new hire process, performance development, new payroll software training, as well as clinical training for Dentists and hygienists-including porcelain restoration, periodontal disease training, and new denture procedures.

Return on Investment:
Coast dental projects substantial cost savings in the form of reduced travel, and eliminated logistics of transporting staff long distances (often hundreds of miles) for training. The company will also no longer assume the costs of lost production and profitability due to closing offices in order to transport staff for traditional remote classroom training. Intelladon's solution will also limit the amount of time necessary to train, and the ability to repeat lessons as a learning reinforcement technique (which incurs no additional costs) is also expected to increase retention of knowledge, and therefore improve operational efficiency and profitability.
