The LPGA takes a swing at e-learning with Intelladon

6/11/2007
Tampa, FL – The Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) has teamed up with LMS-provider and instructional design powerhouse Intelladon to create an e-learning module that will assist prospective golf teaching professionals in becoming certified by the LPGA.

Previously, the LPGA furnished prospective teachers with a printed study guide. This guide explained how the LPGA scored its Practical Teaching Evaluation (PTE), a test used to certify golf teachers.
In 2007, the LPGA began researching options for putting their training online. For their first project they wanted to create an e-learning module that trained prospective teachers on what golf teaching concepts the LPGA requires them to cover during the PTE in order to become certified. In addition to providing an explanation of how to teach a lesson, the LPGA also wanted to incorporate video of a certified golf teaching professional giving a lesson to further illustrate how to incorporate these teaching concepts.

Intelladon’s award-winning instructional design team worked with the LPGA to create an interactive, user-friendly e-learning module that could not only be used for prospective golf teaching professionals, but also for the LPGA-certified centers that evaluate them –  doubling the value of the project.
Then, Intelladon furnished the LPGA with all of the resources they needed to create the module: videographers, graphic designers, voice talent, and Flash designers.

Once the module was complete, Intelladon provided the LPGA with a customized learning management system that they could use to deliver and manage all of their corporate training, assessment and certification programs - be they online or classroom-based.

Inspired by the possibilities e-learning has to offer, the LPGA is planning other e-learning projects to enhance their current curriculum with the help of Intelladon’s customer support and design teams.
